Elbert Avery:

Fundamentals of Investments in U.S. Financial Markets is an excellent collection of key information about a variety of investment alternatives and the corresponding terminology.  This book addresses in clear and concise discussions necessary details investors should know and understand.

The author covers stocks, bonds, money markets, and other investment alternatives.  He also addresses the various institutions and regulatory functions that apply to the particular investment segment.

There are specific demonstrations of calculations that one would use in developing and tracking one's investment strategy.  There is a thorough discussion on how to read various investment reporting publications.

After reading this book, one should feel comfortable moving forward with investment decisions.  One will also have the confidence and knowledge to know where to search for additional data and information that affect investment decisions.

This is a "must have" reference book for both the novice and professional investor.  One should look forward to further "knowledge-sharing" finance publications from Mr. Howell.
